“When I’m older, I want to be like Paul.”
I met Paul in Bangkok last year. I took the same Airbnb this year so it’d be easier to meet him again. Paul’s a very, very unique guy, and I’m very grateful I was able to hang around him.
To begin with, he’s in better shape than most 20 year-olds. And he’s in his 50s. Read that again. Look at the picture. See what I mean? He’s mega healthy, eats clean, does yoga every day and also lifts weights regularly. I think he can deadlift around 350pounds.
There are many people and gurus that teach health and fitness online. But Paul’s a living example of longevity and lasting health. I believe I can learn more by hanging out with him and seeing what he does than in 10 books or YT videos. I told many of my friends, “I wanna look like Paul when I’m older”. And it’s totally true.
The lesson for you? Don’t accept that it’s just normal to get fat and sick when you get older. You don’t have to – Paul’s the proof.
And it’s not just health, he’s mega active and fun to be around with. Not “crack jokes all the time” fun sort of thing, but just a good presence you know. He’s got some very cool projects going on in his life, and you can feel the passion he has for them.
Last but not least, he’s very wise. He’s traveled much of the world, spent a decade in Japan, a bunch of years in China, Thailand, India…He’s met many people and lived through many experiences, both positive and negative. I believe it’s all those experiences that contributed to his wisdom…
Anyway, if you ever get to meet Paul, say Hi for me. Feel free to link up with him on social, he might even help you out with a tip or two or direct you to some cool YT videos.
If you dig this post, let me know. If there’s someone older that you’re looking up to, tag them and let them know.
P.S.
The other two rockstars on the picture are Robert and Olin, and Adam took the shot. We’ve had an epic day checking out BKK’s Chinatown and little India.
