Seems like a lot? True, it’s not that you’ll get all that just by making your bed. But it’s a start. And it’s ALWAYS better to start right now. Small actions towards the goal consistently is where the magic happens.
I make my bed first thing every morning, I have for years. I don’t even track it anymore, It’s a keystone habit. Do my bed, scale myself, check vision board. Autopilot.
But a few years ago it was different. One day I read that making your bed in the morning can help you create and stack better habits (thanks Tim Ferris). So I decided to put that in action and challenge myself, no need to tell you how tough it was…
It was really hard to adapt my brain to do something so trivial, something so ordinary… But I did it.
After years of adapting this habit, I can see how this small win first thing in the morning translates into other areas of my life. One small win will lead to another, and another, and another.
It’s a tiny habit, yet a keystone habit. It gives you just enough sense of accomplishment that you want it again, that ‘’hit’’ of success.
So yeah, your mom was right. Go make your bed.
